| Welcome to Toronto |
Toronto
is the largest city in Canada. It is the capital of the province of
Ontario, and is the business, financial and cultural centre of the
country. The city is situated on the northern shore of Lake Ontario,
which forms part of the border between Canada and the United States. The population of the city of Toronto is around 2.5 million people, and the entire metropolitan area houses more than 4 million. Toronto is a city of theatres, restaurants and excellent entertainment. It is also no more than 80 km (50 mi) away from one of the most spectacular sights in the world: the Niagara Falls. |

| The tower |
The
CN tower is one of Toronto's landmarks — and by far the highest.
Take the lift to the top on a clear day, and you'll be able to see
all the way to the Niagara Falls and Rochester, New York. |

| Restaurants | Toronto has over 7,000 restaurants
offering well over 100 different cuisines. A simple breakfast in an
outdoor cafe or a sumptuous dinner in an opulent restaurant: take
your pick.
|
||||||||||
| Shopping | The conference venue is situated
right in the middle of Toronto's shopping district. Here you can
find large shopping centres as well as small boutiques.
|

| Climate | In August-September you're in for a spectacular season: the colourful autumn. The days are usually quite pleasant, and there's a lot of sunshine. Temperatures are likely to range from 13—21 degrees Centigrade (55—70 Farenheit), so bring a light jacket and a sweater or two. | ||||||||||
| The falls | The Niagara Falls are only 80 km (50
mi) away from Toronto. The ISRP will arrange a day tour to the
falls, and if this is not suitable, you can easily book a round trip
with the hotel or any tour operator. Imagine yourself on the deck of
that boat!
